The Challenges

Several challenges were encountered during the remodeling process:

• Waterproofing & Moisture Management: Given the high moisture environment in the bathroom, ensuring that all materials were properly waterproofed and resistant to mold and mildew was a crucial challenge in achieving a durable and long-lasting result.
• Balancing Design with Storage: While the client desired a sleek, modern design, we also had to ensure adequate storage solutions in the limited space available, which required creative design choices for custom vanities and cabinetry.
• Maximizing Natural Light: The bathroom had limited natural light, so we focused on creating a bright, airy feel by using light-colored tiles and strategically placed mirrors to reflect light and enhance the space’s openness.

The Solution

Our team worked closely with the client to create a cohesive design that addressed all their needs. Key solutions included:

• Mold Challenge: To tackle the challenge of waterproofing and moisture management, we used premium ARDEX Products and Blanke Permat underlayment systems for enhanced durability and protection. These products create a robust barrier against moisture, preventing water damage and mold growth.

• Modern Bathroom Designs: We worked with the client to integrate custom-made vanities and multi-functional storage solutions that didn’t compromise the sleek, modern design. We performed a complete plumbing overhaul, replacing old pipes and ensuring all new fixtures, such as the Ravon bathtub.

• Spa-like Experience: To achieve a spa-like experience, we added heated floors with a programmable touchscreen thermostat. This not only provides comfort but also helps regulate the bathroom’s temperature. We also installed custom glass shower enclosures for a clean, modern look that complements the luxurious feel of the space.

• Durable and Aesthetic Materials: We chose high-end, durable materials like Imola tiles for the floors and walls, which are resistant to wear and tear, moisture, and staining. These tiles offer a sleek, modern look while providing the longevity needed for a bathroom. This also reduces the need for frequent maintenance.
